Banff Christmas Events

Banff is such a magical place, especially in December, so if you’re planning a trip over the holidays, be sure to check out some of the below….. Saturday December 5

• Holiday Wagon Rides 11am-4pm
  • The Banff Trail Riders are offering free horse & wagon rides on a first come first serve basis
• Christmas in the Courtyard 11:30am-3pm
  • In the Bison Courtyard there will be Dance and Story time, a Christmas Puppet show, and Christmas carols
• Holiday Magic in the Mall 1pm-4pm
  • There will be face painters, balloon twisters and more at the Cascade Shops
• Santa stops by the Train Station 1pm-4pm
  • Santa will be at the train station to say hello to Banff
• A Whyte Christmas 1pm-4pm
  • At the Whyte Museum there will be carols, crafts, cookies, hot chocolate and a visit from Santa
• Santa Claus Parade of Lights 5:30pm
  • Along Banff Avenue watch the magic and glow of the Santa Claus Parade
• Santa’s Anonymous Auction and Dance
  • The Royal Canadian Legion has a silent and live auction

Sunday December 6

• Santa Arrives at the Spirit of Christmas! 2pm-4pm
  • Santa will be at the Spirit of Christmas store for photos

Saturday December 12

• Christmas on Wolf Street 4:30pm-6:30pm
  • There will be an outdoor street party that includes live music, interactive pageantry and more
• Brunch with Santa 11am-2pm (Dec 12, 13, 19, 20)
  • Join Santa at the Fairmont Banff Springs Bow Valley Grill for a wonderful brunch

Sunday December 13

• Home Cooked Christmas Dinner
  • BanffLIFE is having a Christmas dinner to get into the holiday spirit above the library, donations are welcome

Saturday December 19

• Christmas Present Scavenger Hunt
  • Find the presents around the Fairmont Banff Springs, pick up a scavenger hunt cards from the Christmas display in the hotel lobby
• Heritage Tour of the Castle 1pm-2pm
  • Learn the history, architecture and legend of Canada’s Castle in the Rockies at the Fairmont Banff Springs
• Letters to Santa (Dec 19-23)
  • Send your letter to Santa at the Fairmont Banff Springs in the main lobby

Sunday December 20 – 31

• Wine Tasting at the Fairmont Banff Springs only $20 per person

Thursday December 31

• New Year’s Eve Skating and 10pm Countdown 6pm-10pm
  • The Banff Community High School will be hosting skating and providing hot chocolate
• New Year’s Eve Fireworks 11:59pm-12:05am
  • There will be fireworks in downtown Banff at midnight
